I have a USB Pendrive 512 Mb which I bought it quite long ago. Somehow it was locked itself (I clearly remember that i did not lock it) by its own Security AP program. This locking program was pre-installed by the manufacturer as one of the addon softwares for customers.

As it is locked, you will not be able to see your drive`s icon in the My Computer window. You will only be able to see a floppy icon which is something similar like this:

The locking program was actually store inside this virtual floppy in order for you to access, run and unlock your drive. But without password, you cant do anything about it.

In an unlocked situation, there will be 2 icons, which are your drive and the floppy:

There were many important files inside the drive when it was locked. Finally, I managed to unlock the drive by some simple method which i am going to share with you.

Step 1: Plug your drive into a LINUX base system

Step 2: Open the drive.(yes, it will appear)

Step 3: Search and open the autorun.inf file with vi editor or any other text editor in LINUX

Step 4: Locate and delete all the exe files which specified in the autorun.inf file (Something like RavMon.exe…)

Step 5: Remove the autorun.inf file as well

Step 6: Remove all the folder .Trash-root (a recycle-bin) in your drive. (You must choose to show hidden files in order to see this OR at terminal ls -a )

Step 7: Unmount your drive from LINUX system and test at Windows system

DONE!

That‘s what i tried when my drive was locked…

Finally, my drive was unlocked!!

The very simple reason of this is… the locking program are not design to be run on LINUX base system
